Vivamente Voices Values

We aim to make the choir feel welcoming and so we ask for all members to agree to these shared values and expectations so we can help to create a happy place for everyone.

  • Ideally we'd love all members to be at all rehearsals but we understand that's not always possible.  If you can't attend a session, please let Sheila know.  Make sure you catch up on anything missed before the next rehearsal.

  • We encourage you to do some home practising in order that you feel well prepared for each rehearsal. That way we spend less time note-learning and more time enjoying the music and can focus on the detail.  Sheet music, practice tracks and rehearsal schedules are provided to help you along the way.

  • It's okay to make mistakes in a rehearsal! Members come to Vivamente Voices with a range of musical abilities and previous experience and should be able to rehearse with confidence in a supportive environment.

  • We perform around three concerts each year, take part in competition festivals and we like to get involved in a variety of events in our local community.  We appreciate that you might not be able to sing at every single event during the year but we work best as a team and so full participation in the year's events is definitely our aim!

  • For learning new repertoire, a basic understanding of musical notation is helpful, along with a willingness to learn the repertoire from memory.

  • We ask that everyone is respectful in both words and behaviour towards fellow choir members.  Respect for all is very much at the heart of our ethos.

  • If you have any problems during your time with us, kindly let us know, so that we can do our best to help you.
